Activities

ASP organizes and participates in several activities throughout the year. We try to involve all interested students and hold general meetings with a guest speaker every month to inform students about different aspects of planning.

The main activities of ASP are listed below:

  • APA conferences
    • ASP members participate at the State and National APA conferences. We organize fundraising activities to give financial support to our members who attend these conferences. 
  • Career fair
    • ASP and ASLA organize an annual career fair which usually takes place in February. This gives students the opportunity to meet with professionals of different firms.
    • ASP officers initiated a CM credit maintenanceworkshop to better serve local professionals and encourage the interaction between planners and planning students.
  • Social activities
    • ASP organizes several social events throughout the semester, including orientation activities for new students and potluck dinners.
  • Community service
    • ASP annually participates in the Big Event to give service to the residents of College Station and Bryan.
  • Student support
    • ASP provides support for incoming students and participates in the departmental orientation at the beginning of the year.
  • Shirts
    • ASP sells maroon Texas A&M Urban Planning polo shirts. For information on how to buy a polo, please contact one of the current officers.
